Through the financing tool of the FEIS Fund (Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Fund) Seed Capital Bizkaia is making a clear strategic bet on supporting and promoting social economy projects.
Until the end of 2019, the volume of investments made within the FEIS Fund has reached 1,5 million euros. This has meant, therefore, direct support for 9 projects in Bizkaia with high social impact that, as a whole, employ a total amount of 248 people.
Main impact areas
The 9 projects that have been promoted with the support of Seed Capital Bizkaia refer to various areas within the framework of the defined Sustainable Development Goals:
- Inclusion (IPM Urbegi and Urbegi Insertion).
- Inclusion and Environment (Koiki and Aparka Mobility).
- Education and Culture (Kunsthal and Wats).
- Health and Well-being (Evolv, Insulclock and Ubikare).
Impact Indicators
Each one of the referred projects individually defines the appropriate social and / or environmental impact indicators to be able to measure and manage the change caused by its own activity.
Seed Capital Bizkaia provides specific support and accompaniment for the design of indicators defined under international standards:
- Creation of 162 insertion jobs.
- 444 people at risk of exclusion trained to improve their employability.
- 932 people have been able to improve their health.
- 30 people have opted for their training in Bizkaia (attracting talent).
- 63% of people in training decide to continue in Bizkaia (talent retention).
- The emission of 90,2 tons of CO2 has been avoided.
