As part of the activities organized within the framework of the Annual Microfinance Congress promoted by MFC-EMN, Seed Capital Bizkaia organized a workshop to share work experience in the field of microfinance.
In the aforementioned workspace, a presentation about three projects that have participated in the microfinance program of Seed Capital Bizkaia was made (program called Seed Capital Bizkaia Mikro); a program that makes microfinancing available to the business and entrepreneurship fabric in Bizkaia. Biboo Bikes, Dog Vivant and Optimi Rooms were the three experiences that shared their trajectory.
BIBÅŒO BIKES: electric bikes
MarÃa Ribate, on behalf of BIBÅŒO BIKES explained to the attending public the company’s business model based on offering electric bicycles that respond to the tastes and demands of each client, who can choose personalized designs and diverse materials. “We differentiate ourselves – MarÃa shared – because we are not a company that sells imported bicycles, but we do the entire process of designing, developing and distributing the bicycles that we devise. We also differentiate ourselves because we only sell online. This allows us to sell quality at the most competitive price”.
DOG VIVANT:Â leisure with pets
Elena Fernández, founding partner of Dog Vivant, shared the 3-year history experience of her project. Dog Vivant is a company dedicated to offering information on tourist destinations, restaurants, hotels, shops, to go to with your dog.
The Dog Vivant team, made up of a majority of women, is happy with the results obtained: “right now we have more than a thousand certified companies and 80% annual renewal”. Elena explained the new challenge they have at hand and that involves carrying out a capital increase with the entry of new partners that would allow them to invest in the technical development of the tool as well as in the promotion of the platform itself.
OPTIMI ROOMS: capsule hotel in Bilbao
And finally, Iñaki Zabala and Iker Caballero explained the Optimi Rooms project, the first capsule hotel on the peninsula, that will open in the coming weeks in Bilbao.
The project aims to cover a specific niche of demand for tourist accommodation, very popular in Asian countries but that do not exist in these latitudes.
Their promoters mentioned, immersed in the latest details so that the project is launched, “the necessary effort and work that involves any entrepreneurial project”.
These cases of shared projects are an example of Seed Capital Bizkaia‘s commitment to microfinance. Through this tool, it promotes innovation, improvement and job creation in existing companies that are determined to bet on new stages in their business model.
