Thanks to the initiative of a group of entrepreneurs, mostly coming from the industrial construction sector, LiderLED was born in 2010, an engineering integrator of solutions related to lighting, control systems and energy efficiency that has managed to create innovative technology and a leading position in southern Europe in the sector of this type of equipment for large industrial and logistic warehouses.

Thus, in 2013, this Biscayan firm began to develop and implement its own intelligent lighting system for industrial buildings called Liderlighting Control System (LCS). Later, in collaboration with the company Avertia, it developed the energy monitoring tool called SiGeCo, a specific consumption measurement tool for companies in the industrial sector.

Likewise, at the state level, it has become the leading provider of lighting systems for logistic warehouses located in the central and eastern areas.

“The initiative to create LiderLED arose as a result of the absence, in the field of equipment and industrial construction, of engineering companies exclusively dedicated to look for solutions at the R&D level for the optimization of electricity consumption in large facilities dedicated to distribution and logistics“, indicates one of the company’s partners, José Manuel Novas. “As a result of our professional experience in the construction and exploitation of industrial assets,” says Asier Axpe, another partner, “we were aware that the impact of energy consumption on the operating accounts of this type of companies was high and that, in crisis times companies try to focus on reducing costs in a broad sense; at the same time, initiatives to reduce energy consumption and its active control in the industrial field were very few and we saw a business opportunity there“.

LiderLED bases its business strategy on determining the best way to apply optimization measures to the circumstances and needs of each company. “Our culture,” emphasizes Asier Axpe, “is based on the functionality and operability of what we design and offer to the market. We are customer focused; we incorporate technological solutions that are truly practical from an end user concept. We advise our clients so that the investments they make in the field of lighting efficiency provide an effective return, and do not incur technological overruns that do not make practical and functional sense“.

Comprehensive solutions

This working method has placed LiderLED at the forefront of providers of comprehensive lighting solutions for the industrial logistics construction sector. “We would like have to more relationship with the production industry in the Basque Country; that is the reason why we are involved with Avertia in a development linked to the control systems for machine consumption in order to have more precise data on the impact of energy costs on the production process“.

Immersed in this scenario of success, the leaders of LiderLED do not forget the supports that have contributed to make this possible: the one from Beaz, the Gaitek program of the SPRI, and the one received from Seed Capital Bizkaia “with all the availability of aid formulas”.

The growth of LiderLED’s activity is not going to suppose a transformation of the established business plan. “We made a big bet in favour of a sustainable future and we keep it.
