Since its creation in 2014 until 2021, a total of 11 social initiatives have been supported by the Entrepreneurship and Social Impact Fund (FEIS) runned by Seed Capital Bizkaia , for an amount of around 2 million euros in the health, education, circular economy and labour insertion and inclusion sectors.
FEIS, a fund with transformative spirit
It was constituted in 2014 with the objective to support the promotion and consolidation of company initiatives with social impact and is currently the only public fund existing in the state in the area of impact investments.
New partners reinforce the fund’s social impact strategy
Seed Capital Bizkaia considers that its commitment to socially responsible investment in Bizkaia has achieved an important impulse during 2021 with the entry into the FEIS of Fiare Banca Ética, Fundación Anesvad y Fundación Laboral San Prudencio. Going hand in hand with these three very experience reference entities in the social area without doubt implies a strengthening of the fund itself.
Some figures illustrating the consolidation of the fund:
- 3,863 people benefited
- 2,801 people with health coverage
- 155 people trained for employment
- 316 people with quality work
- 285 people at risk of exclusion employed
- 334 tons of CO2 avoided
- 252 direct jobs generated in the companies
- 12,573 million turnover of the FEIS companies.
