In 2015, Seed Capital Bizkaia opted for the creation of a specific line that provides financial support to small and medium-sized companies in Bizkaia through microfinance: Seed Capital Bizkaia Mikro.

A team of qualified people analyzes the viability of the projects and is in charge of advising and accompanying entrepreneurs throughout the whole process.

Since the beginning, Seed Capital Bizkaia Mikro has supported a total of 111 companies in which it has invested 2,2 million euros, with an upward trend in terms of job creation. In fact, just in 2018 a total of 44 jobs were promoted through the supported companies.

Social impact areas

Almost a third (34) of the projects supported by Seed Capital Bizkaia Mikro carry out their activity in areas with a clear social impact.

• Environment: 56% of the companies.
• Health and Wellness: 26% of the companies.
• Employment and Training: 12% of the companies.
• Community Development: 6% of the companies.

Indicators of social impact

The social impact indicators attributable to the projects supported by Seed Capital Bizkaia Mikro show, among other aspects, that:

• 95% of the projects are still ongoing.
• A total amount of 12 projects promoted by people at risk of exclusion have been supported.
• 52% of the jobs generated are occupied by women.
